Providing care to animals during the summer is one of the hardest parts of our lifesaving work. As an animal lover, you know that each dog and cat deserves the best love and care possible.
And, with the difficult challenges that COVID-19 has brought, our work this summer is even more critical, as we give additional assistance to struggling pet owners.
In this time of hardship, your donation provides the resources that keep pets with the families who love them:
- Pet food to pet owners in need
- Virtual veterinary and behavior assistance
- Injury and illness veterinary care
- Emergency boarding to pet owners who are hospitalized with COVID-19
We are asking for your help to meet these new urgent community needs, as well as care for homeless dogs and cats.
With your ongoing support, we can provide shelter and medical care for all the animals who need us and we can provide our community with resources to keep and care for their beloved pets.
Thank you for your generosity.
With compassion,

Starving and Scared
Raven was starving — every rib was visible, and her bones were protruding through her skin. She had given birth to five puppies, and it took all her strength to keep them from starving too. We quickly found foster homes for them all, and Raven discovered how it feels to be loved and well-fed. At first, she was afraid of her own shadow, but once she felt she was safe, Raven began to blossom. Her coat became thick, her eyes bright, her tail never stopped wagging . . . and Raven was soon scooped up by a loving family.
Alone in Downtown Atlanta
How does a kitten who can’t walk find herself on a busy street in downtown Atlanta? Martina was a survivor — she must have crawled under a car for safety, because that’s where little Martina was found. Covered in fleas underweight, and unable to walk, Martina came into our care at our West Midtown location. After a flea bath, a lot of food, and several days of care to restore her strength, Martina stood up and took her first wobbly steps. With lots of cuddles and love by our staff, she began purring, growing and was ready to find the safety of a loving home.
